About Online Courses
Online courses may be the solution to your education needs, but they're not right for everyone! Take this quiz to find out if Internet courses are right for you.
If you plan on taking Internet classes with Ivy Tech Community College, Terre Haute, you will need the following:
- An IBM compatible Pentium II 100 Mhz or faster or Macintosh PPC computer
- Windows 95 or higher, Mac OS 7.6 or higher
- A CDROM and sound card installed in your computer
- An Internet connection (28.8 modem or faster is required)
- If you connect to the Internet via AOL, you will need AOL 4.0 or higher.
- A current Internet email address (i.e. yourname@isp.com)
- A basic understanding of Internet functions
- Web browsing
- Email
- Downloading and uploading files
- Attaching files to email
- Word processing software (Microsoft Word/Office)
Some classes may require additional software (Autocad, Excel, Office, etc.) Contact the appropriate program advisor before you enroll in the course to find out if you will need addtional software. The College does not provide software for Internet courses.
