Frequently Asked Questions
I've taken all my courses at Ivy Tech; do I need to forward my transcripts to Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley?
NO, Ivy Tech will not need a copy of your transcripts. If you've taken courses at another college (not an Ivy Tech), you might want to forward those transcripts so we can verify course equivalency. However, before beginning Phase 2 of the program, ISU will require official copies of all your transcripts.

Where do I send my nursing license? Do I have to be a Licensed Practical Nurse to start?
You need to fax or mail a copy of your nursing license to Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley after you've completed an application for admission. You must have a current nursing license before starting Phase 2 of this program.

How much does this program cost?

How does financial aid work for this program?
Financial Aid is available for those that qualify. Specific questions about financial assistance should be address by a financial aid representative at the institution where you plan to enroll.

I've had MAT 111 and COM 102 while preparing for my RN, will these two courses work for this program?
Yes and NO. MAT 111 can be transferred to ISU in lieu of MAT 102. However, the COM 102 is not a speech class and therefore is not equivalent COM 101. For specific question on course applicability, please visit CAS -Course Applicability System

What if some of my general education is older than 10 years, can I still use it?
Course transfer is done on an individual basis. If you provide us an unofficial transcript, we can tell you if the courses will transfer.

How long is this program? How many years does it take to complete the degree?
Students work toward degree completion at their own pace. You do not go through this program as a cohort.

Do I have to take all my courses via distance education/on-line?
Although the flexibility and convenience of this program is the distance education option, students can opt to complete campus-based courses.

Where will I complete my clinical requirements?
The clinical experience will be setup in or around your community, depending upon your location. This is coordinated during Phase 2 of this program.

Can I submit my application at another Ivy Tech? What if I've already submitted an application to another region?
Your applications should be submitted to Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley! Even If you applied at another region, you will still need to follow the instructions for Phase 1.

Do I have to complete the courses in Phase 1 at Ivy Tech-Wabash Valley?
No, you can elect to take the courses at your local Ivy Tech or at another accredited institution. If you plan to take courses at a different institution (not an Ivy Tech), you will need to verify course equivalency.

I have previously been dismissed from ISU's School of Nursing; can I still start this program?
You need to contact ISU and check on the status of your dismissal. There's usually a period of time you must wait before reapplying.
