What if I need help with a class?
The tutors in the LRC are available to help Ivy Tech students in writing, reading, study skills, English, computers, accounting and many other classes. If you would like individual help in a class, check with a tutor to see what is available. If you need on-going help, we will schedule a standing appointment for you.
What is a "standing appointment"?
A standing appointment is a tutoring session scheduled on an on-going basis with the same same student and the same tutor for a specified class. This is the best way for continued progress in a tutoring situation. We try to be as flexible as possible in arranging the schedule. Stop by the counter in the LRC for more details. (Remember, the tutor you are scheduled with still has responsibilities to other students in the LRC during your session time, always try to be well prepared and understand that interruptions do occur.)
How much does tutoring cost?
The tutoring is a free service provided to Ivy Tech students. There is no cost for students.
I don't know anything about computers. Is there anyone to help me?
Yes. There are tutors available to help you get started and to answer your questions. Don't hesistate if you have any questions.
