Education
A student with an Associate of Science degree in Education will
acquire an understanding of the teaching profession as well as a
strong background in the general education subject matter required of
teachers. The Elementary Education graduate will be a competent
provider of services as a teacher's aide or substitute teacher.
Students who choose to continue their education will be well prepared
to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program in Education. Students
graduating from the Associate of Science degree in Education
participate in evaluations of proficiency in general and technical
education.
By successfully completing a core of education foundation courses,
general education requirements, the Praxis I exam, and a criminal/drug
history background check, graduates will be ready to enter baccalaureate
degree programs as a junior ready to pursue their bachelor's degree in
Elementary Education.
