Student Loan Online Application
You are about to access information to apply for a FFELP Stafford Loan for Ivy Tech Community College in Terre Haute, Indiana. This is a Loan that MUST be repaid. Please read the following information before continuing with the application process.
Before your loan can be processed, the following eligibility requirements must be met:
" The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed including any additional information required by the government and/or the Office of Financial Aid. You can complete the FAFSA on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
" You must be registered in a degree program (AA,AS, AAS, or TC)
" An official copy of your High School Diploma or GED scores must be on file in the Admissions Office or you must meet the ability to benefit (ATB) requirement.
" You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
" You must be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Failure to meet the eligibility requirements will result in cancellation of your loan application and/or loan disbursements.
Students who apply for their loan ten (10) or more days after the semester begins, or those who need additional documents, may be subject to later disbursement dates.
Based on federal regulation, the amount a student can borrow each year is limited as noted below
Dependent Undergraduate Student
1st Year student $5,500
– No more than $3,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans.
2nd Year student $6,500
– No more than $4,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans.
Independent Undergraduate Student
1st Year Student $9,500
– No more than $3,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans.
2nd Year Student $10,500
– No more than $4,500 of this amount may be in subsidized loans.
For periods of study shorter than an academic year, the amount you can borrow will be less than those listed. You may receive less than requested if you received other forms of assistance for your educational related expenses.
Student refund checks are not received on the disbursement dates. Your account is credited on the disbursement date. REFUND CHECKS SHOULD BE RECEIVED 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER THE DISBURSEMENT DATE, PROVIDED THAT ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION IS COMPLETE.
If you have not completed Entrance Counseling or a Master Promissory Note with your current lender on OpenNet, you will be required to complete them during the application process.
